- Maisonnée helps you run a shared home: chores, machines, groceries, money, notebook, reported problems.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no data sales. No analytics tool is built in.
- Pompon, the assistant, runs on your iPhone (Apple Intelligence): your questions never leave the device.
- A house stored online can only be read by its housemates’ phones.
- You can delete your account from the app at any time.
Who is responsible
Johan Kenneth, publisher of Maisonnée (individual developer), is the data controller. Contact: jokenkpro@gmail.com.
This policy covers the Maisonnée iPhone app (and its widget) and the web app at maisonnee-app.web.app.
Without an account, nothing leaves
You can use Maisonnée without creating anything online: the demo (“Try the Demo”) and a house kept “on this phone only” stay entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to a server until you put the house online (by inviting a housemate, joining a house with a code, or signing in).
The data we use, and why
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Technical identifier (assigned by Firebase Authentication, anonymous at first) | To give this phone online access to your house. |
| Email address and name provided by Apple or Google, or email address and password, if you link an account | To find your houses on another device. With “Hide My Email”, we only receive an Apple relay address. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see them. |
| The house’s content: its name; housemates’ first and last names, room and short bio; chores, who they are assigned to and who did them; machine bookings; stock and shopping list; expenses, who paid and repayments; the notebook (Wi-Fi passwords, door codes, contacts, bin days, notes); reported problems; posts, thanks and votes; announced absences and move-outs; the landlord’s or agency’s contact details if you enter them; the chosen plan | So every housemate sees the same house at the same time. This content is entered by the housemates themselves. |
| Each phone’s membership of a house (technical identifier, chosen housemate, date joined) and the invite code | To restrict a house to its housemates, and to let people join it. |
| Messages sent to support | To answer you. |
Maisonnée does not collect your location, contacts, photos, health data or payment details. Maisonnée never handles money: balances between housemates are amounts you enter and settle outside the app.
Legal basis: performance of the service you use (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)); for support, our legitimate interest in answering your requests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
What stays on your phone
- The copy of the house is stored in a file in Maisonnée’s app group, shared by the app and the Pompon widget (to work offline and show the Home Screen widget). The widget never contacts a server.
- Your preferences (language, tour seen, icon that follows the mood, badge…) are kept in the app’s settings on the device.
- Pompon answers using the on-device language model (Apple Intelligence, Foundation Models framework): the conversation and the house information it reads stay on the iPhone and are sent neither to us nor to any artificial intelligence service.
- Reminders are local notifications scheduled by the iPhone itself; we do not send remote notifications.
- On the web, your browser keeps your language, theme, list of recent houses and an offline copy of the house (browser local storage).
What we don’t do
No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no analytics, no profiling, no selling or sharing of data for commercial purposes. Maisonnée includes no analytics or advertising SDK and these pages load no third-party fonts or scripts.
Cookies and browser storage
The web app sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, which is why no consent banner is shown. It only uses browser storage that is strictly necessary for the service (exempt from consent under the ePrivacy rules):
- IndexedDB and localStorage (Firebase Authentication): keeping you signed in on this browser;
- IndexedDB (Cloud Firestore): the offline copy of the house;
- localStorage: your preferences (language, theme), recent houses and changes not yet sent;
- the service worker cache: the app’s files, so it opens offline.
When you sign in with Google or Apple, their sign-in window may use its own cookies, governed by their privacy policies. You can erase all of this storage by signing out and then clearing the site’s data in your browser.
Who sees what
- Your housemates see the content of the house they share with you.
- An agency or landlord, only if your house chooses to link to one, sees only the categories the house decides to share (at least reported problems; depending on your choice: move-ins and move-outs, equipment status, an anonymous mood trend, percentage of chores done, housemates’ first names and phone numbers).
- Our service providers, who host and run the service on our behalf (below). Nobody else.
Hosting and service providers
- Google Firebase (Google Ireland Limited, Google LLC): the house database (Cloud Firestore, hosted in the European Union, “eur3” region: Belgium and the Netherlands), account sign-in (Firebase Authentication) and hosting of the web app and these pages (Firebase Hosting).
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, app distribution and, where applicable, subscription billing. Apple does not share your payment details with us.
- Google: “Continue with Google”, if you choose it.
Firebase Authentication and Firebase Hosting’s content delivery network may process data outside the European Union, in particular in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, to which Google LLC adheres, and by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Technical logs: like any host, Google records connection logs (IP address, browser, date, page requested) for security and operation. We do not use them for analytics or to identify you; they are kept under Google Cloud’s rules, usually for a few weeks.
Security
Traffic is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). The database access rules restrict each house to its members; invite codes are designed not to be guessable. Keep your house code for your housemates: anyone who has it can ask to join.
Retention
- An online house’s content is kept as long as the house exists, for all its housemates.
- Your account is kept until you delete it.
- Deleting your account (iPhone app: You & the house → Your Account → Delete My Account; web app: Settings → Account) erases your Firebase account and your membership of all your houses; with Apple, the Sign in with Apple authorisation is also revoked. A house’s content belongs to the house: what you wrote there (chores done, expenses, posts, your name in the housemates list) stays visible to your housemates, who can remove you from the list. To have a whole house, or your name in a house, erased, write to us.
- The copy on your phone stays there until you delete the app.
- Support messages are kept while we handle your request, then for at most 3 years.
Your rights
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability (GDPR Articles 15–21).
- See and correct: directly in the app (profile, house, notebook…).
- Delete your account: in the app, as described above.
- Get a copy of your data or make any other request: jokenkpro@gmail.com. We reply within one month.
- Complain to the CNIL (France) or the data protection authority of your country.
Age
Maisonnée is intended for people aged 16 and over who share a home. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes significantly, we will let you know in the app before it takes effect. The version date is shown at the top of the page. The French version prevails.
